The effect of protein content on the test weight of grain was studied for spring wheat cultivars and lines grow on black fallow in the years with contrast temperature conditions and rainfall during the vegetation period (crop season). The negative effect of protein content on the test weight was observed for all years except one. The highest effect was noted under epiphytotics of leaf rust (Puccinia recondita tritici).
