Nature and Importance of Multifunctional Elements of the Infrastructure OF RURAL AREAS

Agricultural production is not only a kind of economic activity, but also a social basis that specifies the nature of rural development, which, in turn, determines the living standard of rural population. The objects of the agrarian infrastructure are integral elements of both the production and social environment of rural areas. The research reveals the available scientific and theoretical contradictions and clarifies the infrastructure typology. The authors have singled out multifunctional elements of the infrastructure that require specific approach in the evaluation and management of their development. A hypothesis has been put forward and confirmed the existence of a relationship between the development of multifunctional social-and-productive infrastructure elements, the state of agricultural production and the general level of rural development. The development of multifunctional infrastructure elements can make a significant contribution, both improving the efficiency of agricultural production, and promoting general development of rural areas.
