The results of numerous field experiments generalization of the agrochemical service of Russia are presented. The effect of soil-agrochemical factors on the efficiency of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers applied for sugar beet is reflected. The increase of available phosphorus level in all the studied subtypes of chernozems decreased crop return of beet due to phosphorus fertilizers application, but considerably less in comparison with cereals. The efficiency of potassium fertilizers varied slightly with change of the level of available potassium in soils. A more significant contribution to crop return of sugar beet was provided by potassium rates. The highest efficiency was characteristic for leached chernozems of the Central and Volga Districts, in which agronomic efficiency of potassium was 2 times higher than that for other soil subtypes and regions.Key words: phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, sugar beet, provision of soils, availablef phosphorus and potassium forms.
