Abstract
Various laboratories are making great efforts to develop techniques for identifying circulating immune complexes [IC] and to correlate their presence with specific diseases. The possibility of IC in infectious diseases of known etiology and protracted evolution offers the best opportunity.sbd.schistosomiasis, malaria, Chagas disease, visceral leishmaniasis, etc. IC may play a pathogenic role in these diseases. When specific therapy becomes available to which these diseases can respond, they may grant an opportunity to facilitate research on IC and their reliable identification.
