Abstract
An hypothesis for the molecular structure of the opiate receptor based on 2 opposed parallel Kusnetsov-Ghokov grids was discussed. A study of the molecular structure of a wide variety of opiate agonists and antagonists suggested that the complementary opiate receptor consists of a cup with a marked 3-dimensional topology. This cup in the model was constructed of 4 pentapeptide segments of protein chain aligned as 2 .beta.-pleated (anti-parallel) sheets.
