Abstract
The marked dissociation between cycliccAMP binding, decreased with the rising occupany of receptors by endogenous cAMP produced during ACTH stimulation. The demonstration that small increments in cAMP bound to receptor protein consistently accompany stimulation of B by trophic hormone provides evidence for the intermediate role of cAMP in the action of ACTH on adrenal steroid secretion.
