Abstract
A case of histiocytosis X appearing soon after birth had several unusual features: It responded favorably to classical therapy (most cases relapse and often have a fatal conclusion), and showed 2 histologically different aspects in the same child. The little boy showed a body-wide distribution of papular lesions, typical of Letterer-Siwe disease and later dermal nodules of the type described by K. Hashimoto and M.S. Pritzker as congenital self-healing reticulohistiocytosis. The etiology of the disease remains unknown. In this unusual case of histiocytosis X, corticoid therapy was combined with Oncovin.
