It is known that there is a linear relationship between the crude fibre content of roughages determined by the A. O. A. C. method and their 'acid-fibre' content. The present work shows that there is also a relationship between crude fibre determined by the method laid down in the Fertilizers & Feeding Stuffs Regulations and the 1±5N-H2SO4-fibre. It is suggested that a relationship between these two variables might better be expressed if a correction be made for the crude protein content of 'acid-fibre' residues.
