One eighty five front line demonstrations were conducted on chickpea on different components during the year 2003-04 to 2011-12. The gap between conventional practices and improved package of practices is much higher ranging from 141 kg/ha to 449.6 kg/ha. There is a need to make stronger extension services to educate the cultivators in the implementation of improved technology. Under improved integrated package of practices demonstration, the extension gap was much higher i.e. 449.6 kg/ha. Highest net returns of Rs. 24332 per hectare were realised in improved integrated package of practices demonstration. Benefit-cost ratio was ranging from 2.40 to 3.32 under improved technology demonstration, while it was 2.08 to 2.92 under local check. The highest benefit - cost ratio of 3.32 was recorded in integrated pest management demonstration.
