Manufacture of particleboards from stored wood chips. 2. Microbiological and chemical processes during storage and their effect on emissions during drying of wood chips

Manufacture of particleboards from stored wood chips. 2. Microbiological and chemical processes during storage and their effect on emissions during drying of wood chips

Holz Zentralblatt 1982 107 108(107 115 7 20): 1779-1780

Wood chips (av. length 30 mm) prepared from beech or Scots pine timber felled (in W. Germany) in spring or autumn were stored outdoors in 42-m3 piles for 12 months. Biological, chemical, and physical properties of chips from the surface and interior of the piles were measured at 4-month intervals.
