Summary
All burning treatments reduced dry-matter yield, biennial & late burning in the dry season (September) being less detrimental than annual burning or early burning (January, April) every second year. Late burning increased annuals in the sward, biennial burning early in the season increased the proportion of Chrysopogon fallax & all treatments other than biennial burning late in the season reduced the dominant perennial grass Themeda australis.
