Summary
A case is described of a woman with an acute febrile illness, marked eosinophilia, and abdominal pain after eating water cress. This was diagnosed 9 years afterward by the finding of an adult liver fluke, Fasciola hepatica, in her common duct. This appears to be the first such report in the United States.
