Two new spp. of Saprolegniaceae collected in Florida are described. These are Achlya mucronata, a subcentric-oospore sp. with papillate oogonia, and Brevilegnia globosa. The latter is distinguished by its variable spore behavior, and by oogonial size and contorted monoclinous antheridia. A brief discussion of the taxonomic position of the genus Brevilegnia is included.
