Summary
A 20-parent partial diallel analysis (S-9) was conducted on Indian mustard (B. juncea (L.) Czern and Coss.). The variances for general [.sigma.2g] and specific combining ability [.sigma.2s] were highly significant. The estimates of .sigma.2g were lower than .sigma.2s in both generations, indicating the predominant role of nonadditive gene action. The parents 'Varuna' and 'Cult 47' were good general combiners.
