Summary
The behavior and life history of the rare myrmecophilous lycaenid E. acraeina Trimen (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae) is recorded for the 1st time. The host plant was Gnidia kraussiana Meisner (Thymelaeaceae); the host ant belonged to the genus Acantholepis (Hymenoptera: Formicidae). The larvae of E. acraeina shelter in the nest of the host ant during the day and emerge at night to feed on the host plant. A plea is made for the conservation of this species.
